Hi, i’m JOY
I provide creative operations and production support for established content creators and growing creative businesses who are tired of being the bottleneck in their own business.
I step in, take responsibility for getting things done and spot opportunities in what they've already built.
A BIT ABOUT ME.
I've spent my career in the creative industries, and I can't really imagine working anywhere else. Banking or insurance? I wouldn't know where to start!
Along the way, I've directed hundreds of supporting artists in period costume, set up documentary interviews in the strangest of locations, spent a summer filming with baby animals and even turned my hand to dressing sets for an interior design show.
Like many in TV, I've learnt to turn my hand to all sorts of things. But what I've always loved most is working with creative people, solving problems and figuring out how all the moving parts fit together.
I'm happiest in smaller teams, where I can really get to know the people and feel part of what they're building. I've often arrived on a short contract and ended up staying much longer. I like to think that's because I get stuck in and become someone people want to keep around!
WHY WMCH?
A few years ago, I watched a successful content creator close to me come dangerously close to burnout.
From the outside, their business was thriving. But behind the scenes, everything depended on them — creating content, making decisions, managing people and keeping an increasingly busy business moving.
They'd become the bottleneck in something they'd worked so hard to build.
I could see how much of my production experience could help. The planning, coordination and problem-solving that goes on behind the creative work.
And that's what led me to WMCH.
I wanted to offer experienced, hands-on support to creative people who've built something valuable but don't want to keep holding everything together themselves.
WMCH MIGHT BE A NEW CHAPTER, BUT I'M NOT STARTING FROM SCRATCH.
I love getting under the skin of a business, asking questions, understanding the people behind it and working out how everything fits together.
I've always been someone who can see the bigger picture, but I'm just as happy getting stuck into the practical details.
Sometimes that means untangling a complicated project. Sometimes it's spotting an opportunity in something that's already there.
I'm not interested in handing over a list of ideas and leaving you to it. I like taking responsibility, working alongside people and getting things moving.
And I know that inviting someone into a business you've built yourself takes trust. I want to become someone you can rely on, not another person you need to manage.
